He's got a somewhat silly front page (don't forget to View Source), but if anyone has anything they think should go into the site, now would be a great time to speak up. I think it would be nice if people could put together a paragraph or two about who they are, what they do and how they use perl to do it better. I'll start: Benjamin Holzman is a technical developer for legal publisher Matthew Bender. He uses perl to build everything from one-line text munging scripts to 30,000 line object-oriented systems. He's the author of the XML::Generator module, the (dubious) Tree::RedBlack module and a system, POP (Perl Object Persistence), for making perl objects persistent in a relational database. Check his CPAN author directory at http://www.perl.com/CPAN/authors/id/B/BH/BHOLZMAN for the most up-to-date versions of these modules. He lives in Delmar, NY with his mildly eccentric cat, Abby. The Albany.pm meeting at 6:00 PM tomorrow (Tuesday, May 18th) will be at the TROY PUB & BREWERY, 417 River Street, Troy, NY. This is a change from our previous meetings, which had been at the Malt River Brewing Company in Latham. Directions from the South, mostly for Jack's benefit: Take 787 North; get off at the Troy-Bennington exit, stay in right lane for downtown Troy. Once you get to Troy, there's a sign for Hutton Street to the right. Make that right. Go down two blocks to River Street, make a left. The Troy Pub & Brewery is on the next block. I will be bringing the Perl Monger hats. See you then, Ben From Benjamin.A.Holzman at bender.com Wed May 19 10:14:52 1999 From: Benjamin.A.Holzman at bender.com (Holzman, Benjamin A.) It's great to see some new faces. I was going to send this to just Clark, but maybe somebody else would be interested in it as well. I've been working for some time on a persistence engine for making Perl objects persist in a relational database. The code is on CPAN at http://www.perl.com/CPAN/authors/id/B/BH/BHOLZMAN/pop-0.05.tar.gz Right now it will only work with Sybase.
