hi dave,

as we chatted, i doubt i can take 9 stones from you but we can try. 
maybe i can cheat a little! i once place some go program which had up to 
17 handicap stones. not standard but possible. i forget the pattern of 
extra stones. at least we can play around and see if i can hold my own 
against you. or consider it a training game. or a demo game to others 
wanting to learn go.
