[yapc] Missing subcribers

Brad,

I really hope you will come. I'll buy you a beer (or two). "Ignore the 
man behind the curtain!" as was said in the Wizard of Oz (who turns out 
in the end to be a really great guy, once he comes out from behind the 
curtain/mailing list).

Sometimes there is butting of heads (ramming of horns) among this gang 
of brilliant and eccentric geeks, but in my experience it's rarely over 
personalities or pride. It's about the merits of a particular idea, 
proposition or piece of code. The ability to care passionately about 
something that affects a community, pulling as hard as you can on your 
end of the rope while the sweat stings your eyes and your heels get 
dirty and skinned on the grass, is actually refreshing in these days 
when image and popularity usually obscure a lively debate on the merits.

You'll enjoy it. Push back. You already have, actually, and I think you 
make a good point.
