if that is done i would want the yes option to be the default. but
autosubscription is better IMO as opting out after that is easy and we
never got any complaints. you go to yapc, you get on this list and can
communicate with other yapc attendees. yapc is all about community and
communication and this list is a solid part of that. i feel i am writing
to /dev/null this year. it is not spam. it is community.
