Because more people get to see the answer, plus it's one question to the
organisers rather than several.

Because some like to plan their time. At the moment, with no website
and no announcements, it means I certainly can't book flights and hotels
until I know it's definitely happening. Management aren't keen to send
me to a conference, just because I say it's happening :)

And YAPC::Europe has just 2 people (unpaid), who are doing a better job
than OSCON IMHO (not that I'm biased or anything) :)
