Those of you planning on traveling via the CTA this weekend, especially from O'Hare to IIT, should be aware of work being done this weekend.

There's also work on the Yellow Line, but that's far north; I highly doubt anyone from out of town cares about that one.

Blue Line Temporary Service Interruption — Jefferson Park (accessible) to Harlem (accessible)

9 p.m., Friday, June 13 until 3 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2008

Due to tie replacement to eliminate slow zones, Blue Line service will be temporarily interrupted between the Jefferson Park and Harlem stations. Shuttle buses* will operate in both directions between these stations.

Please allow extra travel time.

*Note: The bus shuttle is free to customers transferring from trains at Jefferson Park(to O’Hare) and Harlem (to Downtown).

Red Line Subway Trains Rerouted to Loop Elevated Tracks on Weekend

Effective the following days and times:

9 p.m. Friday, June 13 until 3 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2008

Due to Red Line subway construction, Red Line trains will operate on the Loop elevated tracks between the Fullerton and Cermak/Chinatown stations. Trains will make all elevated stops from Roosevelt (accessible) to Fullerton in both directions.

Note: Merchandise Mart (accessible) is exit only via stairway on Saturday from 12:50 a.m. to 5:10 a.m., Sunday from 12:50 a.m. until 7:10 a.m., and weekday mornings from 12:55 a.m. to 5:10 a.m.

Alternate shuttle bus service will operate until 3 a.m. on Monday as follows:

•Between Clark/Division and North/Clybourn
Shuttle Stops: Clark/Division (Red Line), North/Sedgwick (accessible) (Brown Line) (entrance on Hudson) and North/Clybourn (Red Line).

•Between Grand/State and Wells/Superior
Shuttle Stops: Grand (Red Line), Chicago (accessible) (Red Line) and Wells/Superior (walk one-half block west to the Chicago/Franklin (Brown Line) station entrance on Superior)

•Between Roosevelt/State (accessible) and Jackson/State
Shuttle Stops: Adams/Wabash, Jackson/State (accessible), Harrison/State and Roosevelt/State (accessible).

Southbound to/from Downtown: Board/exit Red Line trains at any elevated station along Lake or Wabash on Inner Loop track.

Northbound to/from Downtown: Board/exit Red Line trains at any elevated station along Wabash or Lake on Outer Loop track.
