As a general rule, transferring from train to bus makes you stand
around for a while waiting for the bus, unless the bus route is an
exceptionally well-bused route.

And trains and buses run less often on weekends, usually. But for
buses, traffic is generally lighter.

What does all this mean?

It means the 50 minutes as quoted by the CTA trip planner is likely a
bit optimistic.

A cab from O'Hare to the Wrigleyville Goose Island (yes, there's
another one!) might set you back about $30, and take about 25 minutes.

If you take the El from O'Hare to the Addison stop, and then take a
cab, the train will be $1.75 and the cab probably around $15, and take
maybe 35 minutes.

Take the El and transfer to the bus costs a total of $2-$3, and will
probably take an hour or so, more if you have a lot of wait for the
bus. Or less if luck is on your side.
