I thought (perhaps incorrectly) it was pretty obvious that they were
intended to go in the name badge to spruce it up a bit.  Printed
paper in a bulky nylon pouch just screamed for some penache.  
Plenty of people did just that.  If I'd realize that other people
would be confused by them, I'd have gone around asking for people's
unwanted sticks and *really* spruced my badge up >=)
