[yapc] Elevated trains? What will they come up with next?

Since it is a little late in the game to get a CTA visitor pass mailed,
is it possible to pick them up at Midway airport? Is it really more
economical to have a pass or just pay by the ride?

Also any estimates as to how long it will take to get from Midway to the
IIT campus on the L? My flight gets in at 7:10 pm so I am guessing there
is no feasibility to making it to the Arrival dinner before 9:00.
