It can be very annoying to drop out of a presentation to a hit a web page and discover the wireless is overtaxed. It's possible that McConomy might have it, but I don't think the Rangos rooms will. We haven't requested it. One thing I've learned in past years with running events is that just because the venue has it and it would cost nothing to let you use it, don't assume they will. I am very confident that you will be pleasantly surprised with the quality of the wireless this year. CMU is used to having thousands of people on their wireless. Some of the people in their network group are YAPC veterans. I believe this will be the year that the wireless doesn't collapse. -Dan > All, > > I'm not sure if Yackov is on this mailing list, but I was wondering if > we'd been able to confirm if the speaker's podiums will have cat5 or > not? Message-ID: <51683.10.8.0.18.1245116913.squirrel@webmail1.pair.com> Hello, YAPC is looking for a few last-minute sponsors. This year, it has been very difficult to get people interested in sponsoring anything. The economy has hit everybody hard, and pockets are tight. Many of the old standby's from YAPC's past have had to decline sponsoring this year. We are by no means in a panic situation. But, it would be great to see some support with from a few more businesses. So far, our Silver Level and above sponsors are: cPannel, Grant Street Group, Linode, Shutterstock, Topsy, pair Networks, Summersault, and Rimm Kaufman. If anybody happens to have the ear of any other business that might be able to help out, please help us get in contact with them.
