So there's a big Open Source conference in Vienna in a little more than a
week from today! [1] :-)

I'll be attending, and arrive early! On Saturday 14th – would anyone in
Vienna.pm like to hang out with me? :-D

I'll happily share the ongoings in the CPAN Security Group, what's going
on with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (I have lots to share), and musings on
how this may affect CPAN's toolchain, our communities and Open Source in
general.

I'm also hoping we can have a good conversation around what we'd like to
or avoid happening in the next few years in Open Source in general. (Note:
I'll share my findings at the London Perl Workshop, but there's plenty of
useful and important to learn and discuss already now!)

Finally – if we just hang out and enjoy some good food and maybe beer/wine
and chat about nothing or whatever, that would make me happy too! :-D

Dad used to live in Vienna for ~20 years (and I'm born in the town), so
I'd like to propose one of his favourite places:

Place: Heuriger Sirbu [2]
What: Food, wine, hanging out with Perl/Raku/CPAN people
Time: Saturday September 14th, from 15:00 and onwards
Travel: Bus 38A to Kahlenberg, arriving around 13-14ish
hang out, enjoy the view and then walk downhill.
Later if the weather sucks. :-)

It may be the weather is really bad (forecast looks worrying), so I guess
these plans _may_ change? If it's not too bad, let's just find a table
indoors. The above is plan A. In case of *really* bad weather, is anyone
up for proposing a good plan B? :-)

Please reply to the list (or me directly) if you want to join!

I'll reserve a table in my name + Vienna.pm on Monday or Tuesday,
depending on how many reach out. :-)
