[tpm] Multiple versions of perl

I remember having a discussion about this at one of the recent tpm meetings,
but wanted to clarify.

I came across this page which discusses installing multiple versions of
perl:

Is this the easiest or most common method of maintaining multiple versions
of perl on the same system, or is there a better (possibly portable) way?
