Message-ID: <716184BF245BAA44BD51DDC9E9D79421543E14F5@LA-EXDB102.corp.valueclick.com> Mongers, I'm really looking forward to our meeting. Mayukh Bose has put together a presentation on building a scheme interpreter in perl. The second half is open, so I'm thinking a lightening talk style format. I'm dying to talk about Bloom Filters and the changes in the newly released Perl might be interesting too. Here's the agenda: Perlmongers 6/12/2013 at ValueClick Inc. Little Languages: Implementing a Tiny Scheme in Perl Mayukh Bose How to Implement a little language in perl for fun and profit. We'll implement a tiny scheme interpreter in perl, that is capable of running non-trivial programs. Lightening Talks Misc. Mongers 5 - 10 minutes of something that interests you, with a short Q&A to follow. Details will also be on the website soon (http://thousand-oaks.pm.org/ ). On another note, we have a meetup page. That address is http://www.meetup.com/Perl-Mongers-Thousand-Oaks-CA/ so join up and join us. The nice thing about meetup is that you can RSVP which will help me to figure out how much food to ask for when we get sponsors. :) For those who were unable to attend YAPC, they have a live video feed this year. Information can be found here: http://www.yapcna.org/yn2013/wiki?node=TalkVideos. They claim that they will have the talks on you tube as well. If you find it useful, they always appreciate donations. By way of reminder, Nostarch Press has extended a 30% discount to mongers if you use the discount code: PERLM13. They have a bunch of really cool books. I'm looking forward to seeing you next week. Message-ID: <716184BF245BAA44BD51DDC9E9D79421543EC933@LA-EXDB102.corp.valueclick.com> Mongers, An idea has been floated that we should meet at lunch instead of in the evening. It would reduce the meeting to one presentation, but would potentially fit better with everyone's schedule. What do you think? Would you be more likely to attend a noon to one o'clock meeting? -Peter This email and any files included with it may contain privileged, proprietary and/or confidential information that is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s).
