Hi folks, and Happy New Year to all,

I'd like to let you know about the CPAN Pull Request Challenge:

"If you join the CPAN pull request challenge, then at the start of each
month in 2015 you'll be emailed a (somewhat) randomly selected CPAN
distribution. You'll have one month to submit at least one pull request.
You don't have to be an experienced Perl programmer, CPAN author, or
githubber. The goal is to help others, possibly learn something, and
hopefully have a bit of fun."

So the idea (AIUI) is that you get assigned a random CPAN distribution
each month, and during that month you visit the code repository, fix or
update something, and send a pull request back to the author. I think
there's no penalty if you don't manage to get anything done :-). The key
thing is not to worry too much about your experience. You can ask here
for help! Hopefully by December you'll have got the hang of it and
perhaps learned a few things along the way.

regards,
oliver.
