Due to scheduling this will be a bonus SPUG this month on 7/24 at Marchex in addition to tomorrows regularly scheduled time. As for tomorrows meeting, it's going to be another SPUG social at Tap House Grill from 5pm - 9?pmish. In case the front area is filled up or if a better area opens up that is more conducive to conversation, let one of the greeters know you're with the SPUG or Seattle Perl group and they will get you going in the right direction. 7/17 5:00-9:00 SPUG Social @ Tap House Grill 7/24 5:00-6:30 SPUG Pre-Funk @ Tap House Grill 7/24 6:30 SPUG Bonus Meeting @ Marchex - Jonathan Swartz - CHI: Universal caching for Perl ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CHI: Universal caching for Perl Caching is a critical piece of any performance-sensitive website or application. CHI provides a unified, implementation-independent caching API - a "DBI for caching". It works with the gamut of popular cache backends and offers features well beyond the usual caching API, such as probabilistic expiration, background re-computation, and multi-level caches. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Directions: Tap House Grill: http://goo.gl/maps/REh5 Marchex: http://goo.gl/maps/Wg9A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Called at 6:37 and was upstairs before he actually started the presentation itself. :) Great talk. Deserved a better turnout than we had - but as meetings go, it was competing with an untenable (thanks to Obama's staff choosing to disrupt ALL of the heart of Seattle at the peak of rush hour over inconveniencing Mercer Island for what would have been less time) traffic situation and a Ms home game against the Yankees. I agree, it was a really good talk, and CHI looks genuinely useful. -- It's difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it. - Upton Sinclair
