We use perl primarily on *ix systems.  On the very rare occasions when I
have had to do anything on a Microsoft virus, I've used perl.  Back in the
DOS days, I would often have the perl script write batch files so that I
could get perl out of memory.  The batch files would often run another perl
process when they were done.
