Vaguely aware of it in that foggy-eyed-eeeeuuuukkkk-EMACS  sort of way (VIM kinda
fellow meself), but it would be nice to have a stand-alone that is as portable as
Perl (there is an NT port, but none that I know of for Macs).

And, as you pointed out, it would be a great exercise.
