SPUG: perl's sticky lvalue bug

I recently came across a nasty little problem.  I found a web page that
helped me solve the problem, explaining the cause was the "sticky lvalue"
bug in perl.  Does anyone know what bug/behavior this might refer to?  There
were no details given...
