There seems to be some engineering work between Basingstoke & Winchester which is leading to bus only between those hops making the Soton' to Waterloo journey 2+ hours :-S Therefore I think I might go from Fareham, since that goes east via Havant, Guildford, Woking, etc. The best train from Fareham seems to be: Depart 6:53am Arrive Waterloo 8.27am Tube time 0.15 Walk time 0.08 At venue at 8.50am I'm curious to know what other people coming from this direction plan to use, it would be useful to have someone who can work the tubes, I don't do them that often :-S James From vytdau at gmail.com Thu Nov 6 07:03:27 2014 From: vytdau at gmail.com (Vytautas D) Date: Thu, 6 Nov 2014 15:03:27 +0000 Subject: [Southampton-pm] Trains to LPW In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: I am planning to take the very same journey as James. 06:33 Swanwick -> 06:39 Fareham 06:53 Fareham -> 08:27 London Waterloo 08:42 Waterloo -> 08:49 Goodge street and for return I will take later journey, as I am planning to join London Perl Mongers in the social meeting for a drink: 20:41 Goodge street -> 20:50 London Waterloo 21:05 London Waterloo -> 22:21 Havant 22:26 Havant -> 22:48 Swanwick Though, I am still waiting for Anton on this.. Gets there at ~0830 which should give us time to get to the venue at approx 0900. Anyone feel free to join us. I'm taking my car and parking at the station, anyone in Soton area who wants a lift to the station then message me off-list. Yep, it sucks about the engineering work. Normally I'd go from Soton Airport Parkway which on a fast train gets me to Waterloo in 1h 15m.
