[singapore-pm] Perl Consultancy/Development House

Hi All,

I'm working with an Australian print publishing company that's sitting
on a large pile of DarkPAN Perl code that's been been (in parts) very
shoddily written, and badly maintained.

We are currently undergoing a review process for a rewrite/rebuild,
and are looking at several options. Among them is moving the entire
platform to Java. Obviously with several years of Perl development
under our belt, internal IT is raring to go to use Catalyst and some
of the other more modern tools available in Perl, but we're having a
spot of trouble finding good development houses in Perl.

Management wants a single point of accountability (and thus payment)
for an initiative that might require several developers while internal
IT works on maintaining the old system during development of the new
system. There seem to be plenty of Java houses that handle these kinds
of projects, but we haven't found any for Perl.

Ideally, this development house would be in Singapore or Melbourne; we
recognize the advantage of working with developers in the next room,
or across town, so we can quickly set up meetings and get things
moving quickly. There are development houses that do Perl in India,
but that's not an option we're considering because of the timezone,
cultural, and distance problems (something that's bitten us in the
past).

Google searches have come up empty as well. Any contacts you may have
that do this kind of work would be greatly helpful.

Thanks,
Ifty.
