Message-ID: Two Perl friendly people are in SF from the UK this week and part of next week. We aren't famous but we are sociable. I somehow ended up as leader of London PM, probably because I can put events in a google calendar. Steve Mynott was at the first meeting of London PM, which was also in 1998. We've both been here before, and I'm actually from around here before I bugged off to England some years ago. We don't want to pitch a startup to anyone. We'd just like to have drink and a chat. We're staying on Bush St in Nob Hill but we're quite flexible. We noticed that there was an Emergency Social at Mikkeller for Tom Doran (we guy ;-)) last year, that place would do just fine. But we're pretty flexible. Thanks Sue Spence -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It'll take about 60 hours if you go via US 97. Also, the route involves a ferry ride somewhere, and the elevation gain is approximately 17k feet. The coastal route would be more scenic but the elevation rise is nearly 30k feet, which is just nutty. Who could do that in 3 days? I take your point about post-trip refreshment. (We programmers are only social in emergencies.) We've got some London Perl Mongers coming into town: Sue Spence and Steve Mynott. So, if you'd like to socialize with people who are comfortable with your programming preferences, now is the time. And it is unique in my experience that they've chosen the bar themselves, which may say something about them. At 5:30pm (or thereabouts) we will be at: Mikkeller 34 Mason Street between Eddy and Turk http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3697309889#map=18/37.78374/-122.40783 Coming from the Powell Street BART, you can cross Cyril Magnin (aka 5th Street) where Eddy tees off, walk down Eddy, and make the first left on Mason. Mikkeller is on your left, a half a block up. http://www.yelp.com/biz/mikkeller-bar-san-francisco http://mikkellerbar.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikkeller -- Joseph Brenner, Regent of SF.pm, Speaker-to-speakers, Unindited Co-chair
