About this Job
As the lead for Polyvore's infrastructure and scalability efforts, you'll be responsible for improving our scalability and performance. You will own the architecture, design and implementation of our infrastructure. You'll
troubleshoot scalability and performance issues that may involve hardware, software, applications and network. You will take part in a on-call rotation.

About You
You love building systems that scale. You believe that performance is not only a feature, but one of the most important one for a website. You are metrics-driven and can see the big picture of a system and come up with practical
solutions on an end-to-end basis. You work well in a cross-functional environment and are able to engage in discussions with your peers to gather technical, operational, and business requirements. As a well-rounded software
engineer, you have the following attributes:

  *  BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  *  Substantial experience developing large-scale websites
  *  Expert knowledge of MySQL, Apache, Squid, nginx, memcached

  *  Authorization to work in the United States
