I guess my only comment here is, critical mass is not necessarily a  
good thing. Frankly, isn't that the reason so many people subscribe to  
this list, because it's fairly quiet? Lots of quiet places to go and  
get decent answers (even if not the "best" answer, which is often  
debatable anyway) is probably good. The answers on his Website will  
progressively get better as users get more knowledgeable, until, who  
knows? Maybe we'll be looking up answers there too.
