will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining the platform for a unique, growing e-commerce and services company. He/she must work with multiple project teams simultaneously and thrive in a high performance, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate
brings technical and business expertise gained working in web environments that have experienced strong growth and maturity.</p>
<p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em;" class=""><b class="">Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul class="">
<li class="">Own responsibility for maintenance and enhancement of significant subsystems within our application software and hosting environment, including participation in the definition of requirements, driving prototyping and/or design analysis, code development,
testing and deployment.</li><li class="">Evaluate current IT infrastructure and craft solutions to improve security, scalability, and reliability of the overall environment.</li><li class="">Harmonize the hosting platform with the application stack; recommend and specify application enhancements designed to improve reliability, security, monitoring, and to enable growth.</li><li class="">Provide support to integration efforts between the company's hosted service and client technology environments.</li><li class="">Help establish standards and best practices for system deployments, upgrades, maintenance and administration.</li><li class="">Investigate, analyze and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications.</li></ul>
<p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em;" class=""><b class="">Professional Experience</b></p>
<ul class="">
<li class="">Experience maintaining systems for clustering, high-availability applications, replication, and disaster recovery.</li><li class="">Strong technical skills, including the ability to perform technical diagnostics as well as design and implement technology solutions and processes.</li></ul>
<p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em;" class=""><b class="">Required Technical Skills</b></p>
<ul class="">
<li class="">Perl expertise with working knowledge of PHP and other server-side scripting languages.</li><li class="">Extremely strong SQL skills and the ability to convert spreadsheet and unstructured data to relational database models.</li><li class="">Fluency with Linux administration and enterprise-level infrastructure.</li><li class="">Familiarity with Internet protocols including SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSL, NFS.</li><li class="">Familiarity with JavaScript/jQuery, Ajax, JSON, EDI, XML, PHP, SOAP, and QMail.</li></ul>
<p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em;" class=""><b class="">Preferred Technical Skills</b></p>
<ul class="">
<li class="">The ability to take ownership of previously written code, maintain it and improve/rewrite it as necessary.</li><li class="">Experienced in software design and development methodologies.</li></ul>
