[rochester-pm-list] new to list ... and perl

Hello, I dont know of the protocol of introducing one's self to the list, so
please dont be alarmed if I seem a bit uneasy.  I am new to perl, and I am
in the process of teaching myself ... if that is all possible.

I joined this list hoping it will help me keep focused as well as an option
to ask someone a probably easy question as I am sure I wont understand
everything I read.

So far I have acquired the Sam's Teach Yourself Perl book.  Is that a decent
book?  Anyone suggest a reference guide or any other reading materials which
will help me in my endevours?
