Hello. Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while - I'm still stuck in
the UK, but should be back in Doha around May 20.

Anyway, Ben Figgis has been in touch, and has sent an invitation to
the QSTP conference, which is at the end of May at the Ritz Carlton.
The full programme can be found on their website:
  http://www.qstp.org.qa/output/Page1626.asp

Before you decide you're too busy, I must let you know that the Q-CERT
conference in mid-April was held at the Ritz, and they gave delegates
one of the nicest buffet lunches I've had for many a moon. There's
also likely to be a bunch of interesting people hanging round the
corridors drinking coffee. The chat at these events is often better
than the presentations.

Ben has also suggested that he could publish a profile of Qatar Perl
Mongers in his next newsletter, and has set one of his freelancers to
question me. If you send me open-source success stories from your
firms (that you'd feel comfortable being published), you'd add weight
to my quotes. The kind of thing I'm looking for is:

"free software allowed us to build the widget faster - we took
existing code and changed it to suit our needs"

"we had no budget, but managed to build a national patient database
using an old PC, some gaffer tape and a pair of socks"

Anyway, please send your stories to ngourlay at gmail.com, and I'll pass them on.

See you at the conference.
