From jproctor at oit.umass.edu Tue Apr 3 20:33:15 2001 From: jproctor at oit.umass.edu (j proctor) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:18:38 2004 Subject: Grad School Info Message-ID: Over the next couple nights, the Graduate Center of Marlboro College will be holding information sessions about their three programs: M.S. in Internet Engineering M.S. in Internet Strategy Management M.A. in Teaching with Internet Technologies They're all one-year intensive programs; classes meet in downtown Brattleboro, friday evening and saturday, every other week, and online between times. I'm a student in the Internet Engineering program this year; there's a great deal of focus on Linux, Java, and Perl, but there's also a good bit about database structure and design, protocol technologies, security, etc. This year, the college purchased the building, and is moving towards setting it up as a tech incubator for the region. If you're curious about the programs, email me (off list), check their web site ( http://gradcenter.marlboro.edu/ ), or come to one of the information sessions: Wednesday, April 4, 5:30 - 7:00ish Hotel Northampton 36 King St. Northampton, MA Thursday, April 5, 5:30 - 7:00ish The Hastings Hotel 84 Sigourney St. Hartford, CT "Information sessions will include presentations by Graduate Center faculty, alumni panel, Q&A, and light refreshments." Or so they claim; the one in Boston a couple weeks ago was significantly less formal than that sounds. j P.S. the "Information Sessions" link on their home page takes you to a PDF of the flyer. If you're really curious but can't view PDFs, I will paste the text into an email for you, or make an effort to convert to PostScript or some other format. But trust me, you're not missing much. It's the other stuff about the programs on their site that's interesting.
