We haven't had a meeting for a while... and it's about time we do! How does Wednesday June 6 @ 7:00pm @ Mill's End sound? We have plenty to talk about -- Perl news, WWW::Mechanizing your life, Best Practices, ... Besides the fun technical topics I do have an announcement of my own - I'm moving and thus must step down as the Phoenix.PM leaderish. Scott can keep things going, but it would be nice to get ever more inspired folk to randomly announce meetings and locations and get speakers and such. Not that that sort of thing isn't _always_ welcome :) Official announcement of meeting to follow tomorrow, based on feedback. --Brock From dwchandler at stilyagin.com Wed May 30 12:31:47 2007 From: dwchandler at stilyagin.com (Darrin Chandler) Date: Wed, 30 May 2007 12:31:47 -0700 Subject: [Phoenix-pm] June Beer & BSD Message-ID: <20070530193147.GD529@jeeves.stilyagin.com> Hi! Next Tuesday evening, June 5th, will be a Beer & BSD gathering at Casey Moore's Oyster House, beginning at 6:30 and running until much later than that. Beer & BSD is almost, but not completely unlike Hans' Free Software Stammtisch (apologies to the late Douglas Adams). Typical topics from the past include electricity, Perl, database usage, and the best bits of the old college days. Sometimes we also talk BSD, but please don't push too hard. Since this is an informal gathering, don't worry if you can't make it at 6:30. Feel free to show up at 8:30 if that's when you can make it. :) Casey Moore's is located on the corner of 9th & Ash in Tempe. See the announcement at http://phxbug.org/ for a map link if you need it. -- Darrin Chandler | Phoenix BSD User Group | MetaBUG dwchandler at stilyagin.com | http://phxbug.org/ | http://metabug.org/ http://www.stilyagin.com/ | Daemons in the Desert | Global BUG Federation -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Last Call for staying at the Cullen Oaks apartments (http://www.cullenoaks.com/templates/template_acc/default.asp)! If you plan on staying there, I need to know by the end of the day. Rates are $35 per day and includes a linen package (sheets, towels, etc). Cullen Oaks is approximately .5 miles from the venue. It ends up being about a 1 mile drive due to coming out on a one-way and having to go South before going North to campus. We may have a shuttle running between Cullen Oaks and the venue, but it's not guaranteed at the moment. You need not have made a housing donation to TPF yet to reserve a room at Cullen Oaks. I just need to know a number to give them tomorrow. The apartments are fully furnished. Each unit has two private bedrooms and a single bathroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
