Are we still going to be able to use AMS as a meeting site? And will the April presentation get moved to this month? As such, we have no place for technical meetings at the moment. I'm open to any and all reasonable suggestions. If you know of space available, or possibly available, I'd be happy to do the begging. I'd really like to have a May technical meeting but if that doesn't work out we'll meetup anyway for social relaxation. Thanks! Now to Beginning of Winter Message-ID: <20040507171621.GA10291@localhost.grantstreet.com> I'm here on a contract job that'll run another five to eight months. This makes finding an apartment... interesting. So when in doubt, ask the Perl Mongers. I've got two friends in on this, a married couple, so I'm looking for a 2 bedroom place in the $500-800 range and the Oakland/Shady/Squirrel/ Highland Park/CMU/Pitt cloud. I work downtown, they work at CMU. They have a car, I don't. Ideal would be a month-to-month rental, but I don't think such a thing exists in this city. Otherwise some sort of sublet. If necessary I can take a 1 year lease as long as they're OK with us subleting. If folks happen to see anything like that, please forward it onto me. I've got my nets out on Craigslist, my friends are covering anything showing up at CMU. Thanks. -- Michael G Schwern schwern@pobox.com http://www.pobox.com/~schwern/ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a mag tape on a bicycle. -- Carl Friedberg in <04716E70DA1C6046BECA1F0A26579F7B02FA7E@babbage.esb.com> From casey at geeknest.com Fri May 7 14:02:53 2004 From: casey at geeknest.com (Casey West) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:34:59 2004 Subject: [pgh-pm] Meeting Space Needed In-Reply-To: <20040506173844.GL12004@geeknest.com> References: <20040506173844.GL12004@geeknest.com> Message-ID: <20040507190253.GB307@geeknest.com> It was Thursday, May 06, 2004 when Casey West took the soap box, saying: : Thanks! Either is okay by me, although if I had to pick between them I'd choose the South Side because it's closer to more places to eat (and a closer drive for me). > I'm looking for one more ~30 minute talk for this month, perhaps from > a YAPC speaker looking for practice? I'm still working on my talk (lots of time to fill), but part of it will be creating a 'Hello YAPC' application in OpenInteract2. That should take about a half hour and I'd appreciate the excellent practice of doing that in front of people. Also: who's going to YAPC? I pinged the list about this a month or two ago but back then it was too far in the future, too foggy for people to predict. Now it's only a month away...
