We're all looking forward to getting together with you guys this Saturday, most of us will be arriving around 11:00am. A last minute idea has come up -- for those who use PGP/GPG, or would like to, some of us thought it would be neat to have a key signing party. If you aren't sure what that is, you can read more about it here: http://www.cryptnet.net/fdp/crypto/gpg-party.html Basically, "signing" a PGP key is just a way of one person stating that they have verified the validity of another person's identity and key. It then get's into this whole "Web of Trust" thing that you can read about at the above url :-) The only thing you need to do if you wish to participate is to bring two forms of identification, and a copy of your PGP/GPG key fingerprint. If you don't have a PGP/GPG key yet, the above url explains how to create one, get the fingerprint, and so on. Anyhow, see you on Saturday! -Eric - -- Eric Andreychek | Lucy: "What happens if you practice the Eric Conspiracy Secret Labs | piano for 20 years and then end up not eric@openthought.net | being rich and famous?" http://openthought.net | Schroeder: "The joy is in the playing." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+5zTMR5UKaDAjAG4RAsU4AKDSUUZZ6X4XuVI9009OS8H1zvchpQCg85hI jWwyjHYByLdetun5NDc3vto= =D73n -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From casey at geeknest.com Tue Jun 17 10:38:36 2003 From: casey at geeknest.com (Casey West) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:34:57 2004 Subject: [pgh-pm] Where to meet for July?
