Hi Perl hackers!<br>
<br>
Just in case you're looking for something on a Monday night, PLUG
[1] is holding its bi-monthly "<b>PLUG in the Pub</b>" on Monday
evening at the Moon & Six Pence on Murray St in the city. It's
purely social drink-and-chat, no prepared talks (<i>usually</i>).
There's no membership requirements -- just rock up and hang out. A
bunch of people will be there from around 6:30pm onwards.<br>
<br>
I had a chat with the leaders of a bunch of tech groups in Perth
this week - the Ruby community, Port 80, and others were present;
discussing having joint meetings - with break out rooms for groups
to move off into - at SpaceCubed, 45 St Georges Tce (the old Reserve
Bank vault!). We've dropped <b>Perth.pm</b> meetings to quarterly
due to lack of participation (I've tried monthly, and only 3 people
were turning up), so perhaps merging with other group's meetings may
work? What's your opinion?<br>
<br>
Also - how many people here came along to Paul Fenwick's talk at
PLUG at the beginning of the month? Just curious...<br>
<br>
Disclosure: I am PLUG president (<i>a la signature</i>)<br>
<br>
James<br>
<br>
PS: PLUG does have a tech presentation every month on the 2nd
Tuesday of the Month, <i>often</i> held at City West Lotteries
House, 2 Delhi St, West Perth. Free to attend (normally). PLUG
membership, if you want to support PLUG, is $20/year ($10/year
concession).<br>
<br>
PPS: Running PLUG and Perth.pm is purely voluntary (indeed, it
normally ends up <i>costing</i> me money)<br>
