Hi all,<br>
<br>
Another month has flown by, and it's been ghostly quiet on the
Perth.pm mailing list!<br>
<br>
We are scheduled to <b>meet up tomorrow</b> at <i>The Moon &
Six Pence</i> on Murray Street; I'll be there from around
6:30/7pm. As we don't have a volunteer to give a presentation lined
up, I was going to continue the trip through the Perl 6 examples in
Rakudo Star that we started last month at the <i>Belgian Beer Cafe</i>
(unless we have a volunteer??). :)<br>
<br>
Rakudo Star is AN implementation of Perl 6, and following from last
Friday's 2011.01 release, they are approaching some form of
stability by slowing their release cycle from monthly to quarterly.
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://rakudo.org/">http://rakudo.org/</a><br>
<br>
This will be the 4th monthly meeting of Perth.pm. We've had only 2 -
3 people turning up (including myself), so I am going to reduce the
frequency (after tomorrow) of these meetings until there is more
demand; I'll change the schedule to the first Wednesday of the
quarter, making the subsequent meeting Wednesday April 6th at <i>The
Lucky Shag</i>. The calendar has already been updated, the web
site shortly.<br>
<br>
We're still after volunteers to give a talk on any topic, or even
requests for what people would like to see/hear. Some stuff we could
give an overview on are:<br>
<ul>
<li>Writing POD and targeting documentation in-line for users of
scripts and developers to reference in future (POD::Usage)</li>
<li>Packaging modules for CPAN</li>
<li>What's new in Perl 5.12.x (5.12.3 was released January 21st
2011, minor minor changes)</li>
<li>Anything else...</li>
</ul>
<br>
Please make your suggestions/requests on list.<br>
<br>
Hope to see you <b>tomorrow (Wed 2nd February) at <i>The Moon
& Six Pence</i></b>.<br>
<br>
