[Pdx-pm] A Date of Infamy

Ordinarily, on sites like this I find the comments posted to be, uh,
less than helpful.  In the case of thedailywtf, they're beautiful. 
While there are certainly some insightful people posting there, the
folks who hang out on that site are *programmers* and thus shouldn't be
making some of the boneheaded comments they make.

Clarification:  there's nothing wrong with a failure to understand why
a particular piece of code merits a 'wtf'.  More than once I've failed
to see a problem in some code only to slap my forehead later.  It's the
coders who are try to convince others about the "best" way to do
something when they clearly don't know what they're talking about.
