OC Perl Mongers, Our next meeting is September 30th.  We have one presentation scheduled so far, and need one more volunteer.

Presentations:

1) Bob Mathews will talk ab out Data compression: Unzipping with Perl.
2) Open slot. Volunteer needed.


How can we increase attendance?

Our attendance has been is quite low over the last 4 months. I attended the Los Angeles Perl meeting last week and they had over 50 attendees. Made me kind of jealous. 
Please help spread the word about our meetings. Bring a friend or co-worker.  I would really like to fill all the seats in the meeting room.

Do you any ideas?

The la.pm attendance was much higher than normal.  Did you notice how
much pizza they ordered versus people who showed?  That's because they
underestimated the audience.

A more normal turnout is 10-20 people.

The OC Perl Mongers meeting is a week away!  We have two presentations scheduled.  Should be a good meeting.

1) Bob Mathews - Data compression: Unzipping with Perl.

2) Vijay Anand - Will talk about Getopt::Std and Getopt::Long.


I have one announcement:

The September meeting will be the last meeting held at the Candela Corporation in Irvine. I want to personally thank Mike Baas and the
Candela Corporation for opening the door and letting us host our Perl meetings for the last nine months.  



Moving forward:

We need to find another meeting place. Does anyone have any ideas?  Please let me know ASAP.
