WhenU.com, based in Manhattan, is currently looking for a full time Senior
Perl programmer, with potential opportunity for a technology leadership
position in the company for the right person (if desired). We are looking
for an experienced and talented developer capable of adding to our
server-side code base as we roll out our product through a large-scale
marketing strategy. Our client software works with all major browsers,
including IE, Netscape and AOL and has been developed in Visual C++. Our
server side is written in Perl (mod_perl is used in a limited manner) for a
Linux/Apache production environment. Database is mySQL.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
At least 7 years of commercial development experience
Solid Perl, MySQL experience on a Linux platform using HTML templating
system
Significant knowledge of APACHE operation and configuration and intimate
familiarity with Linux
Strong programming skills in general, database experience (schema, and
SQL) necessary, but DBA level experience not required
You should also have prior experience with high-volume website design and
overall architecture for high-volume web serving
Upbeat personality and willing to work hard at a growing startup with a
current staff of 18 in a well lit environment with 3 outdoor balconies!
