POSITION: Perl Programmer (freelance or full-time)

COMPANY: Orientation.com is a young and rapidly growing company that develops Web portals in countries outside of the US and
Western Europe.

REQUIREMENTS: Perl 5, LWP, familiar with object-oriented programming.

TASK: Orientation.com has a comprehensive news section which uses a Perl-based object persistence layer with mySQL as the back end:
this database organizes news articles from around the world in a multitude of languages. We're looking for Perl programmers to
write input modules that will retrieve and parse text and images from various news sources and store it in our database.

The input modules are fairly simple: you write a module that 1) retrieves the news 2) divides the feed into individual articles and
parses the content of those articles into attributes such as headlines, summaries, etc. and 3) stores the articles in our database.

We provide you with samples of the feeds and details on how the feeds are organized in relation to our database. We also provide
technical specs on how to create these modules, sample modules on which to base your program, and a testing environment on our
servers.

Success on a freelance basis can lead to full-time employment working on a variety of projects. Teams of programmers are also
encouraged to apply.

Visit our sites (http://www.orientation.com) and see what we're up to, then email/fax resume. Immediate opening.
