System Administrator - Unix
  New York City
      You will work with engineering to design and implement Flashbase
networks and systems to
      deliver Flashbase's mission-critical online services. You will
design and maintain firewall
      configurations for core systems. Working with engineering, you
will design and implement
      monitoring software and backup strategies. The ideal candidate
will have experience working
      in both academic and corporate computing environments. Knowledge
of OS installation and
      operation, especially FreeBSD, Linux, and Solaris is desirable. An
understanding of RAID
      disk configuration, client-server networking, and router setup is
also required. You should also
      know how to program in Perl and C. Database administration is a
plus. We are looking for
      someone who likes to work in an open, flexible environment and
whose philosophy is to
      impose security restrictions where they are needed while still
allowing creative
      experimentation within the corporate firewall. A sense of humor is
