I'm lead developer for a finance/education site called Investorama that
is in the process of rolling out various new community features -
message boards, personalization, etc.

It's a small company now - 5 people - with plenty of opportunity for the
right people. I'm looking to hire at least one person immediately,
maybe more depending on who I see. Compensation will include equity
options.

If you're more interested in working as a consultant, we may be able to
do that instead.

We're using apache with mod_perl and MySQL running on Linux. A
commitment to open standards and open source software is pretty
important. I'm more interested in a "jack/jill of all trades" type than
someone who is really focused on only one area. A few years of
experience in the business is adequate if they have been "interesting"
experiences. I'm not that concerned what you're degree is in.

The skills we need:

Must have
- Object-oriented Perl CGI programming
- Experience working with Apache in a unix environment
- Relational databases: SQL and schema design

Good to have
- Experience designing large-scale systems in Perl
- mod_perl
- HTML::Mason
- System administration experience in a unix environment
- C/C++ or Java
- Experience on community sites
- Evaluating outside free/open source or commercial products for use on
the site
- Database administration
- Load-balancing/proxying and stress testing web sites

Interested parties should send me a resume (ascii is fine) via e-mail
plus some sample code, and URL's if you have any public ones that show
off your work. We're ready to move very quickly if you're the right
person - we're launching products soon.
