Do you like working in a fun, creative environment? Does the idea of
working on a full-length computer animated feature get you going? Did
"Toy Story", "A Bug's Life", and "Antz" make you smile? Then you
need to come work at Blue Sky Studios! Blue Sky Studios
(http://www.blueskystudios.com) is the Oscar® Award-winning computer
animation studio located about 30 miles north of NYC in Harrison, New
York (about 40 minutes by Metro North). We have just been "green-lit"
(we have the official go-ahead and we are ramping up) to begin work on
a feature length computer animated film and we need smart and talented
people with an attention to detail to come work here and help build
the studio into a feature producing power-house (of course, we are
also going to keep our Commercials and Feature Effects groups going
too!). If you have always wanted to work in the CG industry here's
your chance! Prior knowledge of Commercial, Film, and CG are not a
necessity, we all come from different backgrounds (as an example I
have a degree in forestry!).

Currently we have openings for programmers. Here's the skinny:

Systems Programmer
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the tools
and environment used by the production staff. The scope of these
tools are pretty much everything that production uses to push data
through the pipeline. Asset Tracking, Job Data Tracking, Batch
Queuing, Data Management, Web-based interfaces to Data, Third-Party
Application Integration, and much, much more!

Requirements:
* Experience with scripting languages (csh, Perl, and Python [TCL
  welcomed]);
* Experience with C/C++;
* Web/cgi-bin development (can be flexible on this one, not everything
  is over the web);
* Knowledge of SQL for database integration is desirable.

Candidates should also have strong skills in:
* Unix
* Documentation
* Interpersonal communication and people skills
* Good written and spoken English

And experience with:
SGI/IRIX; Linux; FreeBSD; Windows NT; MacOS; Samba, Xinet, netatalk;
Web server implementation

These would be great, too:
3D animation/rendering software (Softimage, Maya, RenderMan,
MentalRay); Sense of humor

If you are interested in or have any questions about the above
positions please contact me, Dan Weeks, at danimal at blueskystudios.com
