[Nova-pm] Website design ideas?

Hi,

Haven't heard back from anyone about the ideas posted to this
list regarding software to use to run the site .. anyone have any
input to add?

I can look into the DNS issue, just thought the
person who started this list (I apologize for not remembering your
name) might have seen / received information on how to proceed on
that front.

Also, anyone have ideas for a site design? I can certainly and will
provide one of my own .. I am not good at web design :P but I am
willing to help get this all rolling by showing off how bad I
am :) and motiving someone else to not allow us to be embarrassed
by my 'art.'

Also, I think it will be useful see if anyone on this list has
contacts with well-known / high-profile developers / architects
who use perl as it definitely draws in users to have some higher
profile people giving presentations / talks at meetings (which is
another topic we need to work out). Unfortunately, my closest
contact with any perl luminaries was getting reprimanded by
Tom Christensen back in 1995, when I was first learning perl, for
creating some horribly twisted code to do something quite simple :P
on the lang.perl.misc newsgroup ... not something to be proud of
to say the least.

The DC list has really nice contacts in that area .. are we going
to be able to tap into anyone? I ask not to sound pessimistic but to
just encourage us to think about that and to encourage us to share
what we might each be able to add to this group ...

Anyone have better leads on speakers than that? I am sure most of
you do :P.

Another thing to work on: where to meet and what kind of a topic
mix are we going to start off aiming for?

Again, just bringing up the things I can think of that might be
important for us to think about with this group.

I know that as developers we probably prefer more to design and
code than discuss, but unfortunately if we are to form a group we
have to deal with the bureaucratic s** as well .. once we shake this
stuff out it will be in place and we won't have to think (hopefully)
too much more about it.

Regards,
Max
