The short answer is ir depends.
Is this Apache 1.x + mod_perl
Apache 2.x + mod_perl
or Apache 2.x + mod_perl2
What modules does it use (ar they mod_perl safe) etc.

If I were you I'd start with the documentation and tutorials to be found
at  http://perl.apache.org/
