Liebe Perlmonger,

für diejenigen, die an der europäischen Perlkonferenz vom 2. - 4. 
August in Amsterdam teilnehmen, folgt hier die Information zur 
Unterbringung.
Ich schlage vor, sich der Gemeinschaftsbuchung anzuschliessen, 
und wuerde Jouke dann uebermitteln, wie viele Zimmer/Betten wir 
brauchen. Bitte meldet euch, wenn Ihr an der Konferenz teilnehmen 
wollt.

Unfortunately, due to summer school, the dorms we had hoped for will
not be available.  We have researched some accommodations in Amsterdam,
focusing mostly on those near the conference rather than the center.
If you would like something nearer to the center, you may want to try
searching for a hotel with some service like <www.bookings.nl>.
All information is provided purely as information, not as endorsement.

Note that metros stop running around midnight, although the night bus
75 leaves Centraal Station every half hour (except between 02.05 and 04.05)
for Gaasperplas until 05.35.

This hotel is 1 kilometer from the metro station 'Gaasperplas', which is
3 stops away from the conference and 13 from Centraal Station.  It takes
about 20 minutes to reach the center by metro.

The hotel offers a group discount of 15 guilders per person per night,
with a minimal group size of 100 nights (for example, 25 people for 4
nights).  Jouke <jouke at com-bat.yi.org> is willing to organize a group
to take advantage of this discount, so please contact him if interested.

This hotel is 100 meters from the metro station 'Gaasperplas', which is
3 stops away from the conference and 13 from Centraal Station.  It takes
about 20 minutes to reach the center by metro.

Rates are 147 per room, but if 20+ people register as a group (double and
triple rooms), the price drops to 70 NLG.  Right now there are only 20
rooms left for the period, so if anyone is interested in organizing a
discount group for this hotel, it would be best to act quickly.

This camp ground is half a kilometer from the metro station 'Gaasperplas',
which is 3 stops away from the conference and 13 from Centraal Station.
It takes about 20 minutes to reach the center by metro.

No advance booking is possible, but I have looked at the campground and
it looks large.  I was told that if they are near capacity, they are more
likely to let backpackers with tents in (rather than caravans).

The campground has a store, showers (1,50 per 5 minutes), a cafe
(12,50 for breakfast) and facilities for washing clothing.

The cost is 8,00 per person plus the cost of the tent (which you
must provide).  A small two person tent is 8,75 and a large 3 or
more person tent is 10,75.
