Message-ID: In December of the year 1 B.K., I had the pleasure of being a guest speaker at a New Orleans Perlmongers meeting at the Fair Grinds. I will be visiting NOLA briefly between Friday March 17 and Monday March 20, primarily to squeeze in a hang with my musician friend and to club-hop. If any NOLA Perlmongers would like to squeeze in what London.pm would call "an emergency social meeting" (late Friday afternoon?? Saturday a.m. brunch??), please let me know. I even have one talk available to give: a talk I gave in Toronto in October which had its origin in the talk I gave in NOLA the first/last time I was there. Please let me know. Even though I am in BR now, I would still like to keep current with the meeting summaries. If any meetings have transpired I will gladly post their summary on the website if someone emails them to me via 'estrabd+mailcan.com'. I also wanted to announce that I am now officialy a CPAN module author :). It was pretty easy, and I intend on writing something up about the whole process - from structuring a module to uploading it. The module is more on the academic side, but will have some practical uses once we release version 1.0. The wiki for the module is at http://perl-flat.sourceforge.net/pmwiki, and it can be installed via CPAN using the command "install FLAT". Once version 1.0 is out (0.5 right now) I wouldn't mind coming down for a meeting to talk about it. Well, it should have been last Thursday. I wasn't able to go, so I don't know if anyone showed up or not. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, April 13. But if no one came to the last meeting, perhaps we should throw together an impromptu meeting for this month. Any ideas on days/times? I could probably do late Friday afternoon or Saturday brunch type thing. I wouldn't be able to make it to an evening meeting during the time you're here.
