Sounds like the training and discussions could give a good overview on a few frameworks.

Event Details:
The Appcelerator development team is holding a
free discussion forum and workshop around open-source Rich Internet
Application development using the Appcelerator RIA framework.  The
event will consist of two parts.  The first will be a survey of popular
open source RIA frameworks and an exploration of their approach to
common RIA programming tasks.  Looking at a simple use case implemented
in GWT, Adobe Flex, jQuery, and Appcelerator, we will examine and
discuss the various strengths and weaknesses of these frameworks for
RIA development.

The second part of the presentation will focus on learning the
basics of creating Rich Internet Applications with Appcelerator.  In
addition to a simple demo application, attendees will be encouraged to
experiment with their own ideas during a free lab session.

Kevin Whinnery [ that's me ;) ] will be on hand, facilitating the discussion and
answering questions during the lab session.  No sales spiel and no
hassles - this event is focused on getting developers some exposure to
a very cool open source product (Apache licensed, so it is free as in
beer).

While the event is free of charge, space is limited.  If you are
interested in attending, please register at http://training.appcelerator.com/#_minnesota .  Also, this event is BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop), so while we will
try and have hardware on hand for the lab session, it will be better to
bring your own machine (if possible) to follow along (and for
experimentation purposes).
