If I remember correctly, the theme was "Practical Perl", so I'd opt for 
1 or 2, and probably 2 for preference, given that I'd estimate more 
people need to munge filenames than build module distributions. And if 1 
then probably more "how to use it" rather than "what we're trying to do 
achieve with it".
