But I think you could argue that Vietnamese food is a subset of the 
"Minnesotan" experience and definitely not something unique to here.  If 
you want local flavor I would find something else.   I have eaten in 
good Vietnamese places here, but also on each coast and in the south. 

Personally when I go traveling I am looking for something different, and 
going to an Italian or Mexican or Vietnamese or Chinese or Indian place 
is usually lower on the list as I can find those types of places locally 
too.   That being said - when presented with the choice - I'll take any 
of those as a "mom-n-pop" place over yet another franchised place..
