I sent this to a few lists a week or two back but forgot this one ...

That time has come in my life where I'm in the market for a new job. I'm 
mostly interested in a full time position, though a suitably fascinating,
well-paying, and long-term contract is something I'd consider as well.

I live in Minneapolis and I'm not looking to move, but I do like 
telecommuting. I'm fine with occasional travel (once per quarter).

What I want is a position where I'm working on something interesting and 
meaningful to our users. I want to work with people who have both 
technical and
social skills. My ideal company will value both technical and business 
excellence, and know how to balance those two when necessary.

Er, sorry. Google Calendar failed to remind me about the upcoming 
meeting day (actually, it had an issue with the whole of September, and 
who was I to disagree?). Clearly I'm unable to remember unaided.

Consider this a very early call for talks for next month's meeting.... I 
promise there'll be one, even if it's just me talking. (Unless that 
would cause a significant drop in attendance, of course.)

Google Calandar has been working for me on safari and firefox 1.5  I do
have javascript on and all of that good stuff.  Anyway, I'm here.  Suzy

I've often wondered: what CPAN mirror(s) do you use for machines here in the 
upper midwest? I use the uchicago mirror but I'm not entirely happy with how 
often it seems to get synced.

Don't know if this will help at all, but

promise) there'll be an oop2 there coving more stuff.

What books are you using? Object Oriented Perl, by Damian Conway 
(referenced at the end of the talk above) was my book of choice for 
learning OOP, but I don't know how good it is if you know nothing about 
OO at all (I had the advantage of a handy guru at the desk behind me 
when I started).

Are you having trouble with OO concepts in general, or OO Perl specifically?
