Hello,
In just under two weeks' time, there will be an OpenGuides hackfest
in Oxford, to work on improving the software through programming,
design and inspiration.
OpenGuides™ is a network of free, community-maintained wiki
guidebooks to places around the world. The OpenGuides system is free
software, written in Perl, and is available for download from the CPAN.
There is a web page about the hackfest at
<http://dev.openguides.org/wiki/OxfordHackfest2008>.
Do feel free to come along if you have a day or weekend free and
you'd like to help with the idea of freely available,
community-driven content about Oxford and many other localities -
and pass this message on to anyone would you think would be interested.
(There is a rather neglected Milton Keynes OpenGuides site as well.)
regards,
oliver.
