Just to let you know this list isn't completely dead. :)

ActiveState has released PerlMx, which apparently lets you write Sendmail 
filters in Perl instead of in "sendmail assembly" (that horrid line
noise in your sendmail.cf file).

Requires Sendmail 8.11 and ActiveState's release of Perl 5.6. (There are
rpms and debs available.)

This beta release is available for x86 Linux and SPARC Solaris.
It also requires ActivePerl build 616, and either Sendmail v8.11.0 or
Sendmail Switch v2.0.6 from Sendmail Inc.
