Message-ID: <5361BBF2.4000709@strategicdata.com.au> For some reason, the author of Crypt::Password has deleted the module off CPAN entirely. "Helpfully", cpanm somehow decides that the "stylehouse" module could provide Crypt::Password instead.. which it then dies on, as that module appears to be more of an art project than an actual module at the moment. (It's aim is to make an impressionist file browser, eventually) https://metacpan.org/release/stylehouse Needless to say, this presents two problems. 1) All modules depending upon Crypt::Password are now broken 2) cpanm's attempt to resolve the problem automatically just makes things even more confusing. I still see Crypt-Password-0.28 at: http://search.cpan.org/~drsteve/ And the source tarball downloaded fine for me. Your mirror broken, perhaps ? .... or is it just that *my* mirror hasn't yet realized that the module has been deleted ? I'm not sure what's going on there then. I do wonder if this is side-effect/screw-up after this: http://blogs.perl.org/users/brian_d_foy/2014/04/lets-delete-10000-files-from-cpan.html I went in and deleted a few old versions of my packages. In typical PAUSE style, there's nothing on the page to say "this one is current". I had to go to each individual package page to see what the current versions are, and then not delete them (couldn't remember some of them, most of my stuff is years old). I could totally see someone screwing up and deleting a "live" package without realising it. Rob N.
